Europe is home to some of the world’s most acclaimed destinations. Your dream may be to stroll the Champs-Elysees, make a wish in the Trevi Fountain, or relax along the Amalfi Coast—or visit any number of big cities, medieval villages and coastal towns in-between. Europe is also home to a vast rail network spanning virtually every European. The latest addition to Midland Publishing's popular Irish Railway Pictorial series looks at the railway network which served the island's second largest city, Belfast. At the turn of the last century, Belfast was served by three independent railway companies which had their own termini in the city, the Great Northern.

On the rails around the Alps traveling by train is the ideal way to tour Alpine Europe, especially since some parts of the region are not accessible by road.         I originally purchased same author's accompanying book, "Rails around the rock" while visiting St John's railway museum; and after reading through it and enjoying it so much, I had to get this one also. It's fascinating to observe each page's set of two photos, one photo taken while railway was still in service, and the other taken recently ()/5(9).   If you are a fan of Randy Rhoads, or the "Blizzard of Ozz," this is a must read. Rudy Sarzo isn't an author and the stories sometimes go "off the rails" themselves, however, he provides a unique insight that has been missing from the legend of this guitar hero. The stories shared in this book are personal, enjoyable, and are easy to relate to.4/5.
